THE pupils, staff and parents said a fond farewell to Mrs Julie Neill, P6/7 teacher, who is leaving to become the Principal of Armoy Primary School.
At a special Leavers' Assembly on Wednesday, 24 June the school celebrated the sporting, academic and citizen based achievements of the pupils.
The children from Nursery to P7 started Assembly by singing a rousing rendition of "This Little Light of Mine" which captured the mood of the event, encouraging pupils to let their best efforts shine through.
The Nursery Leavers were presented with a pencil and a book voucher. The Principal, Mrs Evans, wished "Good Luck" for P1 who were transferring to neighbouring schools and said how she was looking forward to seeing many of the Nursery pupils in P1 next September.
Mrs Evans then presented 100% Attendance Awards for 2008/09 to 9 pupils: Declan McGarvey; Chloe McGarvey; Elle McKiernan; Bradley Patton; Niall McCook; Joni Nemec; Adam Scott; Ashna Abraham & Ronan Mooney.
Extended Schools Certificates were presented to many pupils who had attended a variety of clubs throughout the year, including Tag Rugby, Golf and Table Tennis, and the very popular Gardening Club.
P7 received their Records of Achievement and IT Accreditation Certificates. Some pupils from P6/7 were awarded Cycling Proficiency Certificates.

Principal's Special Endeavour Award: Ben McGinty. Subject Awards: Art KS1: Graice Cunningham. The Evans Cup KS2 Art Award: Gabrielle O'Neill. The Eardley Cup KS1 Science Award: Odhran Lynn. The McIlwaine Cup KS2 Science Award: Ronan Colgan. The Ulster Bank Cup KS 1 General Knowledge Award: Finn Larsen. The Glass Cup KS 2 General Knowledge Award: Hannah Woolner.
Music Awards: The Brown Cup KS1 Music Award: Danielle Simpson. The Tina Curry Cup for Music and Drama KS2: Barry McMullan and Daniel Wilkinson.
Awards for other achievements: The Key Stage 1 Avid Reader Award: Niall McCook. The Myer Cup Avid Reader Award: Ronan Lynn. KS1 Citizenship Award: Cathy Laverty. KS2 Credit Union Citizenship Shield: Daniel Wilkinson.
Mrs Evans addressed the P7 pupils wishing them all the best for their future studies as they progressed to second level education. She also thanked the staff for their commitment and dedication to the pupils and school throughout the year.
Mrs Neill was presented with a cheque and a bouquet of flowers from parents and pupils, by some P7 pupils. Mrs Evans thanked Mrs Neill for the dedication she had shown throughout the nine years she had worked in the school. She said "Mrs Neill is popular with pupils, parents and staff alike. We will all miss her smile and bubbly personality around school. We wish you the best of luck in your new post.
Mrs Neill said: "I have truly enjoyed my time at Ballycastle Integrated Primary School. I have enjoyed working with the children and parents, and over the years my colleagues have become my friends. I am sad to be leaving, yet I am excited about the future."
She thanked everyone for their good wishes and generous gifts.
Mrs Neill takes up post in Armoy Primary School on the 1st of July.
