SPECIAL needs teacher, Jean McDonald, retired from Bushmills Primary School with a ringing endorsement of her time spent there.
Teachers at the final Assembly heard how Mrs. McDonald, who had been at the school for eight years, had delivered excellent tuition to the children and had the confidence of every member of staff, pupils and parents.
She was told she would be very sadly missed and that everyone wished her well in the future.
Mrs. McDonald, who lives in the Garvagh area, often went beyond the call of duty to help out at the school.
She volunteered to make all the costumes for the school plays much to the delight of the children.
Mrs. McDonald was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a cheque to purchase gardening equipment.
In response, she said she would miss verymuch the children before thanking the parents for all their support during her eight-year term.
She also thanked her classroom assistans and said she would miss everyone.
