TO celebrate National Butchers Week, J Magill and Sons, Cloughmills invited schoolchildren to swap black boards for their 'chopping boards'.
Thanks to the Main Street butchers, pupils from St Brigid's and Cloughmills Primary School took part in the production and finishing of sausages last Wednesday.
A variety of questions were asked by the children as to where the meat came from etc.

Topics such as hygiene and refrigeration were also discussed on the morning of the event.
The children were then treated to a delicious lunch of sausages, milkshakes and traybakes.

An enjoyable and educational time was had by all involved.
On the Saturday of the same week an open air bbq was held outside J Magill and Sons shop for customers to sample a variety of burgers, sausages etc. Also on display were gluton-free sausages and burgers which can be made to order.

J Magill and Sons also has a delicatessen within the shop which stocks a variety of cooked products such as pies, lasagne, bakes etc. The sandwich bar has an extensive range of homebaked cakes, loaves and birthday parties and other special occasions can be catered for - all at competitive prices.

Stephen Magill explained: "We believe that there are two major factors that make our business unique - hands on family involvement and our never ending commitment to quality.
"As a result of this we source all our produce from local farms, we mature the meat naturally and use traditional methods or preparation to ensure flavour and texture."

So why not pop down to Main Street, Cloughmills? Rest assured there will be a warm and friendly welcome at all times from the local family run business.
