BUSHVALLEY Primary School pupils were once again competing in the Coleraine Drama Festival held in Coleraine Town Hall at the beginning of April.
A total of 41 individual competitors from P1 to P7 and a choral speaking choir of 34 Key Stage 2 children took part very successfully in ten classes, coming first in six of these and gaining second and third places in the other four.

The choral choir, who came first in their section, winning the Tom Martin Challange Shield, were also awarded the Catherine McClelland Memorial Cup for the best overall performance in all Choral Speaking classes.

Pupils placed in classes (and are pictured here) were as follows:-

Class 203 Children 4&5 1st Aleesha Connor, 3rd= Thomas Jamison, 3rd = Peter McConaghie

Class 204 Children 6 1st Ellis Thompson

Class 205 Children 7 1st Alice Dunlop, 3rd Alice Jamison

Class 194 Boys 7 3rd Thomas McConaghie

Class 206 Children 8 1st Bradley Jackson, 3rd=Thomas McNeill, 3rd= Claire Ramsay

Class 197 Girls 9 3rd Erinn Ramsay

Class 208 Children 10 2nd Niall Cameron

Class 201 Girls 11 1st Diane Ramsay

Class 202 Boys 11 2nd Matthew Christie

Class 241b Rural Children’s Choral Mixed Speaking 1st Bushvalley PS Key Stage 2 Choral Speaking Choir.

All children performed at a very high standard, much to the delight of supporters present and the Literacy and Drama Coordinator, Mrs Samantha Williams, and who trained the pupils.

Each entrant received a certificate awarded by Bushvalley PS to congratulate and recognise the hard work put into preparing and taking part in the festival.

Mrs Williams would like to thank the children for their hard work and enthusiasm and their parents for their continued support in this extra curricular endeavour.
