Witnesses appeal into tragic bike death

Krystian Cadler (19), who was a pillion passenger on a motorcycle steered by his friend Lukasz Warchol, was killed at Agivey Road near Aghadowey as they made their way home to Kilrea following the North West 200 races on Saturday, May 14.

A spokesman for the Belfast Health Trust said Lukasz was in a “stable” condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Inspector Ian Armour would appeal to anyone who was travelling on the Agivey Road at approximately 5.00pm and may have witnessed this incident to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on the non-emergency number 101.

He would particularly like to appeal to any motorcyclists who had a helmet cam in operation and who may have captured this incident to contact police on the 101 number.

Meanwhile Mr Cadler’s family and friends have launched an appeal to raise £5,000 to repatriate and bury him in Swiecie in his native Poland.

His grieving partner Monika Bielska and brother Grzegorz Cadler made an emotional visit to the scene of the collision to erect a cross in his memory and lay flowers. Monika has a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Olivia, with Krystian.

She posted a photo of her with her partner on Facebook, saying: “I love you forever.”

She also wrote in Polish on Facebook: “You were, are, and you will always be in my heart! I can’t describe in words what I feel, how I miss you.

“I love you with all my heart, nothing, nobody ever will (fill) that void. If you could come back to us.”
