North Antrim DUP MLA Mervyn Storey has extended his sympathy to the family of Inspector William Conner who sadly passed away on Saturday (April 5).

Commenting Mervyn Storey said: “Inspector Connor was in very sense of the word a man of dignity, who always displayed a spirit of fairness and professionalism in his working career as a police officer. He was indeed someone who took very seriously his responsibilities as a police officer and that was reflected in rising to the rank of Inspector. A well known figure in Ballymoney his quite and unassuming demener was his trade mark

“I can recall my happy mornings with Inspector Conner at a local newsagents were we both would have called in at on our way to our respective places of employment. There was always time for a chat and some well humoured banter.

“I know that the police community will feel the great loss, but particularly his wife and family.

“To his wife May, sons Ivan, Eric, George and daughter Christine, and the wider family circle I extend my sincere sympathy and assure the family of our continued prayers and support at this time of bereavement.”

Service will be held today (Tuesday) in First Presbyterian Church, Ballymoney at 2pm.
