NORTH Antrim DUP MLA Mervyn Storey has been out in his former home village of Armoy to see environmental improvements being carried out.
Commenting Mr. Storey said: “Any improvements that can be made to an area are to be welcome. With Moyle Council receiving money from DOE as part of environmental improvements to tackle dereliction in Bushmills, Ballycastle, Ballintoy, Waterfoot, Mosside, and Armoy I was keen to see at first hand how the work was being progressed.
“So when in the village attending another meeting recently I took time to view what was happening.
“I have many happy memories of my childhood in the village and I was particular interested in the works being carried out at what was Cochrane’s when I was growing up in Main Street and the Old Bank Building where I can well remember stopping off at on my way home from school to get sweets from Mr Bradley the local Manger of the Northern Bank.
“I was impressed by what I saw and I think that we should see more of this type of improvements carried out.”
