Organiser Gerald McQuilken has gathered together a “willing” band of volunteer dancers and tutors, ready to present an evening of dancing and fantastic entertainment.

Ballymoney hairdresser Stephen Cairns will be dancing the Paso Doble with this partner Cara Button Kelly.

Coleraine estate agent Kate Peden and event organiser Gerald McQuilken are pairing up to perform a jazz/swing number on the evening. This is sure to be an elegant and stylish performance.

Avril Lamont, who runs the Dunluce Castle Tearooms, will dance with Coleraine panto stalwart Leroy Dempster. In between performing with Lights Up Theatre Company and Portrush Music Society, Leroy has been teaching Avril the American Smooth. And with Avril just finishing a busy summer season at the Castle, this pairing are to be commended for setting the time aside to rehearse for Strictly Musicals.

Former GAA player Pascal Proctor is swapping ball skills for ballroom after agreeing to be taught the Charleston by his tutor Brenda Tosh. Coleraine Post Office clerk Brenda is well known in the local area for her acting and performing skills.

Roger Boyd of X Factor fame will also be dancing in Strictly Musicals, trained by former pantomime choreographer Emma Durrant. Having faced the gruelling audition stages of X Factor, Roger will be well at home in front of a home crowd.

Maureen Roddy is hoping that her pupil will get a “ten from Len”. No, not Len Goodman, but Len Boland who has agreed to take part in the show.

Rounding off the line-up is the fantastic 80+ year old Nino Morelli who will be tripping the light fantastic with Portstewart hairdresser Olivia Hayes.

Tickets are available now from the Magherabuoy House Hotel for this fantastic night but you better hurry as they are selling quickly.
