The aurora borealis, or the Northern Lights, put on a stunning display over the UK in the last few days and experts predict more will follow.
Local aurora enthusiast Martin McKenna captured an amazing display at Ballintoy, whilst another local photographer, Stephen McLean captured Downhill under the spectacular lights.
Martin, from Maghera, shot this time lapse earlier this week of the aurora display from Ballintoy looking across the ocean over Elephant Rock and 60 million year old volcanic stacks,
Martin tells: “I have included the real time audio recorded on location and our reactions to the display.
“Filmed with three cameras, 600D with 10mm F/2.8 lens, 450D with 18mm F/3.5 lens and Go Pro Hero 4 Silver.
“Images available for sale as prints or on canvas at www.nightskyhunter.com and time lapse available to licence.
The Met Office said the increase in “geomagnetic disturbances” could result in more aurora activity here on Earth over the next few weeks.
