Bushmills has had their Christmas tree replaced after criticism that the old one ‘looked like a bush with a few branches’.
Community Worker Derwyn Brewster started a social Media Campaign on Friday night after the old tree was erected by Moyle District council.
And following numerous messages and posts criticising the tree, Moyle District Council have been forced into replacing it today (Monday).
Derwyn said this ‘is a perfect example of people power forcing Council into to realising that not anything will be good enough or will do Bushmills.
He went on to say it was not the shape of a tree that was the problem but ‘it looked like a bush with few branches and it had no top on it’.
