Tony O’Hanlon, the owner of the Corner House Bar in Cloughmills, presented a cheque for £600 to Allana Jackson, Ballymena Samaritans. The amount raised was the result of a barbeque, music and fundraising event at the Corner House on Sunday 29 June 2014. The event organised by Rathkenny Track and Enduro Bikesport and Ballymena Samaritans was supported by the local community and had music was provided by The Chancers and Tony Stephens.

Tony O’Hanlon said “Every year we try to support a different charity, this year we chose Ballymena Samaritans. The rural community has, in the recent past, known of a number of people who have died by suicide and this was a great way to raise awareness of the service offered by Samaritans to anyone who needs to talk.”

Allana Jackson took the opportunity to thank Tony, his staff and everyone who attended for their generosity and support and went on to say that the money raised would help to maintain the branch at 45 Mount Street Ballymena and the service provided.
