North Antrim UUP MLA Robin Swann has congratulated Ballymoney-based minister, Rev Ian McNie, on being elected as the incoming Moderator of the Presbyterian General Assembly praising him as “a Christian man who will give positive spiritual leadership not just to the Presbyterian Church, but to the entire Northern Ireland community”.

Assemblyman Swann added: “I wholeheartedly congratulate Rev McNie of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ballymoney on becoming Moderator Designate and wish him God’s richest blessing as he prepares to take over the reins of Northern Ireland’s largest Protestant denomination in June.

“I hope he enjoys good health to both prepare in the short term and later during his year of office in what I am sure will be a very busy schedule. It is also very gratifying to see a North Antrim-based minister being elected to such an important position of spiritual influence in our land,” said Mr Swann.
