MR ROBIN Swann MLA, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assembly member and Chairman of the Stormont Committee for Employment and Learning, has praised cash boosts for two youth projects funded through the Big Lottery Fund’s Empowering Young People programme.
Assemblyman Swann, who is UUP Chief Whip and North Antrim UUP Chairman, said a number of women in Moyle aged 16 to 24 would share in an almost £600,000 boost for the Training For Women Network Limited.
In another project, vulnerable and disadvantaged young people aged between 16 and 24 from Ballymena would share in an additional almost £300,000 as part of the Include Youth organization to help provide essential skills training in literacy, numeracy and ICT.
Mr Swann said: “While this funding is to be spread across Northern Ireland, I am exceptionally pleased that young folk from our constituency will benefit from these much-needed and very worthwhile projects.
“The Big Lottery Fund, through its various programmes, has been benefiting North Antrim for a number of years and I hope financial support will continue for years to come as such projects can give our young folk much-needed opportunities to boost their skills base, and ultimately their chances of gaining employment.”
