Student pleads guilty to assaults

A university student from Ballycastle has pleaded guilty to a number of offences including assaults, assaults on police and criminal damage to a police cell van. Eoin Toner (19), of Caman Drive, committed the five offences on March 3 this year.

He was told by District Judge Liam McNally at Coleraine Magistrates Court they were “serious” charges.

The case was adjourned to December 2 for a pre-sentence report.
