St James’s 50th anniversary celebrations

St. James’s Presbyterian Girls’ Brigade Company rounded off their 2013-2014 session with their 50th annual Parents’ Evening in the Church Hall, attended by a gathering of parents and friends.

Chairman for the evening was Rev. Hugh Cubitt and the special guest was Mrs Eva Reid who in fact started the Company back 
in 1964.

The programme included items from the various sections in the company – the Explorers telling the story of the Tiddlers as well as some of of the tinies being ducks and rabbits.

Also included in the programme was singing, choral speaking (including the team who came fourth in the Northern Ireland Finals) and lots more.

The Company section items included traditional PE, naughty school girls, singing and dancing with a Scottish theme.

The finale was based on a celebration of the 50 years of the Company.

Captain Anne Walsh then called on Mrs Reid to hand over the awards 
and trophies.

A Brigader Brooch was presented to Jessica 
Graham.
