RISE Foundation’s Rathlin Ramble

The RISE Foundation’s Rathlin Ramble takes place on Saturday, September 24th at 12:30pm on beautiful Rathlin Island.

As it is a fundraising event, members are hoping to raise £20,000 by getting up to 200 people onto the island to walk the 7 miles along with Frances Black. All money raised will go towards funding the RISE services which support families with loved ones in addiction. To register for the RISE Rathlin Ramble 2011 please visit www.therisefoundation.ie The RISE Foundation is a registered charity founded in 2008 by singer Frances Black, The focus is on the families of those in addiction (alcohol, drugs, gambling, or food addiction etc.) Our overall aim is for cultural change around addiction on the Island of Ireland. We are a cross border/cross community organisation.

At RISE (Recovery In a Safe Environment), we help families understand the nature of addiction, teach self-help mechanisms and how to rediscover family relationships lost to addiction.

RISE currently runs both non-residential and residential Family Programmes with a team of experienced addiction counsellors. They provide group counselling services to family members adversely affected by addiction.

They have a clear vision for RISE which includes the development of dedicated addiction awareness and education centre on Rathlin Island and the roll-out of their 10-Week Family Programme.
