New toilet planned for Ballycastle

A recommendation came before Moyle Council for a new public toilet at Ballycastle seafront.

A council report said: “Following the success of the automatic public convenience in Market Street it is proposed to install an additional set at the seafront.

“It is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The toilet will have a sliding door and will automatically wash the bowl and floor after each use. This system will provide high quality, clean and safe toilets for the public using sea-front area.

“Invites to tender for a new Automatic Public Convenience (APC) for seafront were advertised on the 12th April 2012. The return date was 18th May 2012 and two tenders were returned with options to purchase outright or lease. It is recommended that JC Decaux is awarded the contact for provision of an APC for a period of 15 years for a sum of £14.790 plus VAT.”
