The Post Office has confirmed the move of Ballymoney Post Office from its current location to create a modern branch with extended opening hours for customers. The branch will open at Glebeside Spar, 22 John Street, Ballymoney on Tuesday 3 February at 1pm.
The move is part of a major modernisation programme designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern environments. As part of Post Office plans, the new Ballymoney Post Office will have six serving positions. These will be a mixture of one screened and four open-plan counter positions and a Post Office serving point at the retail counter – a new concept for making Post Office products and services available alongside retail transactions during shop opening hours.
The branch will open Monday to Saturday; 9am to 17:30. The Post Office service point will be available at the retail counter Monday to Saturday; 7am to 21:00. This will give customers 84 hours a week to access Post Office products and services.
The new premises at Glebeside Spar will undergo a major refurbishment. The current branch at 11 Linenhall Street will close on Monday 2 February at 5:30pm.
Post Office Regional Network Manager for NI, Suzanne Richardson said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Ballymoney and we are confident that this new modern branch will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
The Post Office, now independent of Royal Mail, is the largest retail network in the UK, with over 11,700 branches. It is also one of the fastest growing financial services companies and is developing its online and telephony services.
