Graham Thompson has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust.

Graham returns to the Causeway Coast and Glens area where he led the National Trust’s team between 2002 and 2012 in the development of the £18.5m multi-award winning Giant’s Causeway Visitor’s Centre and in ensuring protections were in place to preserve the site’s world heritage status.

Announcing the appointment CCGHT Chairman Bill Harpur commented: “Graham is committed to the area and brings a wealth of experience to bear which will ensure the long-term viability of CCGHT.”

Graham said: “There is a real opportunity to help bring about the regeneration of this wonderful area through putting our landscape at centre stage with a committed and talented team which is already in place. We will work with our many partners in promoting sustainable businesses, particularly those in the tourism sector; in improving agricultural practices through meaningful engagement with land owners; and working with communities to recognise the benefits of landscape designations and adopting sustainable practices.”
