Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist MLA and Chairman of the Stormont Employment and Learning Committee, has called on the entire North Antrim community to rally round the family of the primary school pupil who died after a car struck his mother and her six children as they walked to school in Cloughmills.

Extending his personal sympathies to the Adam Gilmour’s family circle, Mr Swann said: “With the festive holidays only a matter of weeks away, this is a real tragedy for this family and I encourage all in the constituency to rally round this family with their thoughts and prayers.

“There is no doubt that this particular stretch of road is rapidly gaining a dangerous reputation and there is an urgent need to take action to prevent it from becoming one of North Antrim’s most notorious accident blackspots.”
