McAfee Auctions’ important sale of house furnishings

The auction scene moves to Portrush next week when McAfee Auction conduct an important sale of house furnishings at a delightful four storey townhouse at 34 Mark Street, Portrush, overlooking Portrush Harbour and beyond to the sea.

The property which has recently been sold has been the private residence of the family for over 60 years, and the sale primarily contains its contents, and what a lot of nice pieces there are, as the earlier generation, worked in the business of antiques.

Among the many nice pieces of furniture are two nice mahogany double ended couches, a four door mahogany sideboard, circular dining room table, set of six dining room chairs, mahogany hall stand, hall table, turn over leaf table, display cabinet, pier cabinet, sofa table, music cabinet, nice selection of bedroom furniture including wardrobes, duchess dressing table, washstands, chests, bedside cabinet, pair of spoonback armchairs and lots of other nice occasional chairs and tables including nests of tables, very fine mahogany firescreen, nests of tables, davenport, other furnishings including overmantles, mirrors, barometers, polescreen, fender stools, coal scuttles, clothes horses, gong on stand, torcheres, paintings including works by William Cunningham, G W Morrison, J P Rooney, Sam McLarnon, Gareth Giffen, Hannah O’Hanlon, Con Campbell, Sean McKeown, Michelle Carlin etc.

Collectibles including crystal, tea and dinner sets, bronze figurine, doultons, oil lamps, selection of mantle clocks, silver including a bachelors tea service, circular silver service, snuff and other boxes etc, clarice cliff, ruby, doultons, imari etc.

Viewing for the sale commences on Tuesday & Wednesday 3rd and 4th February from 3.00 – 5.00pm and 7.00 – 8.30pm and on the day of the sale Thursday 5th February from 3.30 – 6.45pm

The sale will be conducted by catalogue and screen on Thursday 5th February at 7pm.
