Ballymoney Council plan to donate any surplus play equipment to a charity based project in Malawi.

The decision was taken by members following a presentation by Mr. A. Campbell who, along with five others, visited Malawi earlier this year.

He said his main purpose was to erect a play park for the children of Msongwe using up-cycled play equipment kindly donated by the Council.

He advised that any other equipment would also make a real difference to the people of Malawi.

Councillors were told that similar equipment would be available given the council’s presaent upgrade projects and suggesed that this be donated as previously.

Meanwhile, another charity project for the Philippines fund has been gathering momentum.
