INFORMATION leaflets have been sent to 25 dwellings in the Ballymoney Borough which are known to be served by a well/borehole.

The Department of Regional Development was running a grant scheme which closed on June 29.

Ballymoney Council minutes stated: ‘The scheme will provide a grant for eligible householders to procure a private contractor to construct a borewell and any necessary treatment. It will also include feasibility studies to confirm the suitability of a site for a borewell and appropriate levels of supervision to ensure such wells meet scheme standards. The Department of Agriculture (DARD) will administer the scheme.’
