Two burglaries may be linked

Detectives are appealing for information after two reports of burglary at business premises last week.

Sometime between 8:20pm on Monday 17th September and 8:35am on Tuesday 18th September, it was reported that a quantity of cigarettes were taken from a shop in the Beach Road, Portballintrae area. It is not believed that anything else was taken during the incident.

At around 3:30am on Friday 21st September, it was reported that a shop in the Main Street, Cloughmills area had been broken into and a quantity of cigarettes were taken during the incident. Police would like to speak to two males seen close to the premises at the time of the burglary.

At this stage, police believe that the two incidents may be linked. Enquiries are continuing.
