TUV saddened by death of medic
THE TUV leader Jim Allister has spoken of his party’s sadness at the death of a female medic from Northern Ireland in Afghanistan.
“Traditional Unionist Voice members across the Province will be deeply saddened to hear that a female medic from Northern Ireland has been killed while serving her country,” he said.
“Sadly many families in Northern Ireland will be able to empathise to at least some degree as they have experienced what it means to lose a loved one who was serving to protect freedom against the threat of terror.
“Coming so soon after the launch of the British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal it is a particularly stark reminder of the sacrifice of our Armed Forces.
“It is my hope and prayer that the family will know the presence of the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort at this difficult time.”
