The annual parade of NI Submariners’ Association in Dervock

MEMBERS of the Northern Ireland Submariners Association held their annual parade and wreath laying ceremony at Dervock recently.

The event saw members of the Royal British Legion, ex-servicemen and women link up with Submariners from across the Province who paraded through the village to the War Memorial led by Articlave Flute band.

The secretary of the Association, Mr. David George, was in attendance along with Mr. Ivan Patrick who took the salute in the centre of the village.

Chairperson was Mr. John Erskine and the Rev. John Anderson conducted the religious part of the service.

A wreath-laying ceremony took place and piper, Robert Black, along with the Articlave band provided the accompanying music.

The NI branch was formed in 2000 through the efforts of shipmate D. Erskin. The aim of the Association is to keep all members informed on all submarine matters that may be of interest.
