Storey disappointed at A26 delays news
North Antrim DUP MLA Mervyn Storey has expressed his disappointment following on from a correspondence he has received from the Minister of Regional Development, Danny Kennedy MLA regarding concerns he had raised about delays at the junctions of Knock Road and Kirk Road on the A26 Frosses Road.
Commenting Mervyn Storey said: “Having been contacted by numerous constituents in relation to these two junctions, I undertook to write to the Minister and at a recent meeting with Minister Kennedy raise my concerns about the on-going delays that drivers have in accessing the Knock Road and the Kirk Road particularly for those drivers who are heading south bound towards Ballymena.
“The installation of a new roundabout at Kilraughts Roads was of considerable help to relieving the queues of traffic accessing the Kilraughts Road onto the A26 Frosses Road. Over the last number of years there continues to be a build-up of traffic now at the Kirk Road and the Knock Road despite what the Minister has said in his correspondence.
“I have now written back to the Minister and asked him to carry out a further survey of the time delays that motorists are having at these particular junctions.”
