Spence family book of condolence opens

BALLYMONEY Borough Council has opened a book of condolence for the Spence family.

Three members of the same family - a father and his two sons - were killed in a farming accident near Hillsborough last week.

At its Consultation Committee meeting last Monday, Council agreed to open a Book of Condolence following the tragic deaths of Noel, Graham and Nevin Spence on September 15th.

Speaking at the meeting the Mayor, Councillor Evelyne Robinson said: “No-one could have failed to have been saddened by the tragic accident in Hillsborough at the weekend.

“I would like to open a Book of Condolence for the family and extend my deepest sympathy to the Spence family on their terrible loss. They will be remembered in all of our prayers at this time.”

Alderman Kennedy, Councillor Stevenson, Alderman Campbell and Alderman Connolly associated themselves with the Mayor’s remarks and extended their condolences to the family.

The Book of Condolence is available to sign at Council Headquarters, Riada House until Monday 1st October from 9am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and from 9am - 4.30 pm on Friday and at Ballymoney Rugby Club Monday to Wednesday 8pm - 10pm; Thursday and Friday 7pm – 11pm and Saturday 11am – 5pm.
