Safe driving event at Dalriada School

THE Young Driver event at Dalriada School in Ballymoney takes place this Wednesday.

Organised by Ballymoney Road Safety committee in partnership with the PSNI, the event has three aspects - an observed drive assessment, manoeuvrability assessment and an exhibition in St. James’s Church hall.

The exercise will involve some 40 students from Dalriada and it is hoped a great deal of good will be taken away by those participating in making the roads a safer place.

During the event, a trophy will be presented to Dalriada School in memory of Shannan McCracken who tragically lost her life in a road accident just outside Ballymoney. Shannan was a highly respected member of the school and her passing caused much sadness.

Exhibitors at the event include Road Safety Committee/Council, PSNI, Fire and Rescue Service, Policing and Community Safety Partnership, Autoline, Kerr Insurance, CRASH, Health and Wellbeing (Coleraine Borough Council) and AA Drive Tech.
