'Rathlin - a world away for a day'

EFFORTS are being made to get more visitors to come to Rathlin.

Posters using the phrase ‘Rathlin - a world away for a day’ highlight the fact that it is Northern Ireland’s only populated off-shore island but within six miles of the coast a day trip is easily fitted in.

Posters produced with the backing of Rathlin Island Ferry Ltd and the Department of Regional Development say: ‘The tranquil island is famous for seabirds and is rich in history and natural beauty. We’ll take you there faster and with more daily crossings than ever before.’

The Rathlin ferry timetable starts on April 1.

Ballycastle Chamber of Commerce has been helping to spread the word about the summer timetable.

Attractions on Rathlin include: McCuaigs bar open daily - food available; Island Treasure Gift Shop open; Coolnagrock B&B open; cycle Hire available; Sorneog Hostel open; remodelled Children's Playground open (courtesy of Moyle District Council)RSPB Seabird Centre open from April 1.
