Probe into Ballycastle ‘abduction’

POLICE have been investigating reports of an ‘abduction’ in the Ballycastle area.

An 18-year-old man was reported to have been abducted in the town on Thursday August 2 and a demand for money made. He went to a Belfast PSNI station. No money was handed over.

Police stopped a car on the outskirts of Antrim on Thursday night and arrested a 16-year-old girl, two women aged 18 and 42, and a 21-year-old man were arrested.

A 20-year-old woman was later arrested. All were released on bail.
