Man shot in Linenhall Street - police appeal

POLICE in Coleraine are appealing for information following a report of a shooting incident in the Linenhall Street area of Ballymoney last night (Monday 14 January).

At approximately 10.00 pm a 31 year old male was approached by another male and shot him in the leg. The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries which aren’t believed to be life threatening.

A suspected firearm was recovered from the area and taken away for forensic examination.

Police would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack, witnessed the attack or saw anything suspicious or any suspicious vehicles in the area to contact Coleraine Police Station on 0845 600 8000 or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity crime stoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
