Lord Lieutenant was special guest

THE Women’’s Section of the Royal British Legion, Ballymoney, held their meeting recently.

17 members attended and the Chairman opened the meeting by receiving the Standard and reciting the exhortation.

Joan Walker gave her report on the Carrickfergus Conference and members were then given tickets to sell for the concert on Thursday April 18 (8pm).

The guest speaker Mrs Joan Christie gave a very interesting talk on her duties as Lord Lieutenant for County Antrim which was really enjoyed by all members.

Mrs Christie then judged the competition for the prettiest Royal souvenir and the first prize was Ann Park with Eileen Elliott second and Ruth Stewart third. The raffle winner was Eileen Elliott .
