Jobless figures in Ballymoney and Moyle go up

THE number of people unemployed in the Ballymoney and Moyle area has risen again in July.

Figures released by the Labour Market show that a total of 1,035 people were out of work in July in the Ballymoney Borough Council area - 732 men and 303 women.

The figures represent a rise of 30 people (or 3.0%) compared with June this year and an increase of 49 people (or 5.0%) compared with July 2011.

Meanwhile the figures show that a total of 613 people were out of work in July in the Moyle District Council area - 448 men and 165 women.

The figures represent a rise of 24 people (or 4.1%) compared with June this year however down by five people (or -0.8%) compared with July 2011.
