Glenmona consultation meeting

MOYLE Sinn Fein councillor Colum Thompson has expressed his satisfaction that The National Trust have committed to holding a public consultation to gather the opinions of local people about a future project at Glenmona House in Cushendun.

The consultation will take place on Tuesday January 15 in Cushendun Parish Hall between 7pm and 9.30pm.

Speaking about the consultation, Councillor Thompson said: “I have been lobbying The National Trust for a number of months to bring forward a plan for Glenmona and this is the first stage of the process. The house and grounds at Glenmona are a fantastic resource and I am delighted that The National Trust are now giving them the focus that they deserve.

“I would encourage as many people as possible to attend the consultation and give their opinions and ideas. A strategic tourism project at Glenmona has the potential to be a hugely positive development for Cushendun and the entire Glens. It would boost visitor numbers, create employment and would be a welcome boost to local businesses in the area.”
