Electric car charger installed

BALLYMONEY’S Townhead Street car park has recently seen a new addition - a charge point for an electric car.

Back in December Ballymoney Borough Council agreed to join the E-car Project and allow the installation of five charge points for electric cars - at a cost of £10,000.

Other locations put forward for consideration were Seymour Street Park and Ride, Castle Street, Trolan’s Supervalu, the car park at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Logans complex on A26, Market Street Car Park, Drumaheglis Marina and Ballybogey.

The ‘Plug in Places’ scheme was only available until March 2013, with the deadline for applications being on Friday, November 30.

It is believed the points will benefit the borough attracting eco-friendly tourists and visitors to the town while helping to reduce environmentally harmful emissions.
