Derrykeighan Stone one of top objects in Northern Ireland

THE DERRYKEIGHAN Stone has been selected as one of the top 25 objects in Northern Ireland.

Addressing the issue at a recent Leisure and Amenities Committee meeting, the Director informed members that the Derrykeighan Stone has been chosen to appear in ‘A History of the World’ project.

She advised that a ‘History of the World’ is a partnership between the BBC, the British Museum and museums in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

She added: “The project celebrates objects that have a story to tell. The Derrykeighan Stone has been selected as one of the top 25 objects in Northern Ireland. The objects will be featured in BBC television programmes.”
