A very Happy 80th Birthday Pastor Taylor

There was a great night of Celebration on Sunday 17th February at Ballymoney Church of God, as the Congregation marked Pastor Edward Taylor’s 80th Birthday.

There was much “secretive” planning over the weeks behind the scenes for this surprise event and what a surprise it was! During the Service Pastor Jonathan Payne read out emails from friends in the UK and as far away as the USA, with special greetings from Mr. Mervyn Storey MLA. Mr. Tom McKeown one of the Church Elders presented a beautifully inscribed Bible on behalf of the Oversight and Congregation commenting that Pastor Taylor was truly a Man of The Word.

The candles on the huge Birthday Cake were dutifully extinguished as everyone applauded and acknowledged the Pastor’s 80 years. Pastor Taylor was not just surprised but very touched by the people’s kindness, love and generosity. Pastor Yvonne Payne then delivered a very passionate and challenging message before the closing worship. After the Service, over 200 people made their way to the Youth Hall where a delicious supper was served by the Church’s own Catering Team. There was fun, laughter and a few tears as everyone joined together to mark this special night and what a special night to remember!

Pastor Edward Taylor has not only reached this wonderful milestone of 80 years but he is also the longest serving Minister in the Community of

Ballymoney.

May this Man of God continue to serve and help the town he has grown to love as his own.

So once again Happy 80th Birthday Pastor Taylor!
