Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh braved the summer showers to attend a First World War commemoration hosted by Coleraine Borough Council.

New Coleraine Mayor, councillor George Duddy hosted a civic reception for representatives of the Royal British Legion from Northern and Southern Ireland, as part of Council’s Recognition of Coleraine’s Journey from 1914.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh met dozens of dignatories at the Town Hall, before laying a wreath at the War Memorial and performing a short walk about where they met thrilled onlookers.
