Moyle police notes

Police received a report that a quantity of oil was stolen from a house in the Whitehall Crescent area on Monday 27 January. Police are asking for information from the public in relating to the ongoing issue of oil thefts in the local area.

Police were contacted by the Coastguard after a telephone cable junction box was damaged in the Ballyvoy area on Tuesday 28 January. Damage of this type has the potential to affect local alarm systems. Police are appealing for any information from people who might have been in the area and noticed someone working on the cable junction box.

Police are investigating a report of damage having been caused to a fuel pump at a service station, Castle Street, Ballycastle. Police inquiries are ongoing.

Heavy duty batteries and diesel are thought to have been stolen from plant machinery parked at a house on Glenshesk Road. Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have been offered batteries for sale in suspicious circumstances.

Police are investigating the report of the theft of a Stihl saw from a property under repair at Rathlin Road, Ballycastle. Police enquiries are continuing.

Police were called to a house at Glentaisie Drive, Ballycastle on the evening of Friday 31 January after a report that a woman had been assaulted by another woman. The injured person did not require hospital treatment and police dealt with the incident by discretionary disposal.

Police arrested a 55 year old man on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol in the Hillside Road area of Armoy. He was arrested at around 1:30am on Saturday 01 February. The motorist will now appear in court to answer the charge.

A car has been damaged whilst parked at Bush Crescent, Bushmills. Police enquires are ongoing

The window of a house in the Whitehall area was broken sometime on Friday 31 January. In an unrelated incident, another house window has been broken at Market Street, Armoy sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. Police enquiries into both matters are continuing.
