North Antrim UUP MLA, Robin Swann who is chairman of the All Party Group on Congenital Heart Disease recently hosted the County Antrim Committee of the YFCU when they presented Children’s HeartBeat Trust with a cheque for £5,000 which was raised at the ‘Take Me Out’ event.

Assemblyman Swann, who is UUP Chief Whip, is also a Past President of the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster, and Past Chairman of the influential Rural Youth Europe organisation.

Mr Swann, a Past Chairman of the County Antrim YFCU Committee, said: “It meant a lot to us when Colin Smith approached us to ask if they could run the event in aid of a charity that would benefit children with the same condition as my son Evan.

“Sarah Quinlian of Children’s HeartBeat Trust was delighted and overwhelmed by not just the amount raised, but also the generosity of the Young Farmers.

“It is a privilege to be involved with and support these two organisations, as both contribute so much to Northern Ireland, and although different in outlook, both help young people in reach their potential,” said Assemblyman Swann.
