A Dunloy company was chosen by Top Gear to prepare the world’s most luxurious supercars for its first live show of 2014 in Glasgow last weekend.

Total Perfection was responsible for cleaning 55 high performance vehicles for the Top Gear Live event starring presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May, Richard Hammond and the legendary Stig.

Managing Director Mark Smiley said it was a great privilege to be awarded the contract.

“There are hundreds of cleaning companies throughout the UK to choose from, so for a small company from Northern Ireland to be selected by Top Gear to come over to Glasgow to look after these amazing cars is a great honour,” he said.

It is not the first time that Total Perfection has felt the pressure of working on a big event.

The company was chosen to clean the cars of world leaders at last year’s G8 Summit in Enniskillen.

Mark recalls driving to the George Best City Airport to polish up President Obama’s limousine - ‘The Beast’.

“That was an incredible experience as the car itself is one of the most famous in the world. To be able to work on it was one of the highlights of our careers. It is a lovely car but the inside is quite plain, but the carpet is so thick your feet just sink into it,” he added.

Total Perfection was born when Mark began a car-washing business 11 years ago to help fund his university studies.
