Ulster Unionist Chair of the Employment and Learning Committee, Robin Swann, has congratulated those students who have received their A level results today and advised them to consider the range of options available.
The North Antrim MLA said: “Receiving exam results is an important time for any student and I would congratulate all those who achieved what they set out to. For those who did not quite get what they hoped it is certainly not the end of the road. I would urge students to be mindful of the various opportunities open to them and this is not solely limited to University. I am placing a high emphasis on apprenticeships and scrutinising the on-going departmental review in that area. We also have excellent further education colleges which offer a range of academic, vocational and leisure courses which are designed to suit your needs. I would encourage young people to consider fulfilling their potential here in Northern Ireland thereby effecting change for the better within our society and economy.”
