There was a display of photographs and old roll books, music by the Glens Comhaltas and refreshments.

During the fifty years the school has had four principals.

The first principal, the late Patrick McAuley, was represented by his wife Theresa and son Damian.

Two former principals, Frank Connolly and Vincent Agnew, and the present principal Anne Smart were all at the launch.

They were joined by many past and present pupils and staff.

The book provides in both words and pictures fifty years of memories from the whole school community, pupils and staff.

It is a social history of school days in the heart of the Glens of Antrim.

“Hopefully it will stimulate memories of your own school days!” said a spokesman.
