The second talk in Ballymoney Borough Arts Committee’s local history talks’ series with popular historian S Alex Blair takes place on Thursday 24 October.
The series focuses on Home Rule – an issue which dominated Irish politics at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries and in this month’s talk, Mr Blair will focus on The Big Meeting of Protestants in Favour of Home Rule which took place in Ballymoney Town Hall on this evening, exactly a hundred years ago.
The final talk in the series After the Big Meeting – Rare Birds & Changed Times takes place on Tuesday 26 November and following on from the previous talk, Mr Blair will try to assess the importance of the event.
Both talks take place at 8pm in Ballymoney Town Hall. Admission £2 includes refreshments.
