LOUGHGIEL Shamrocks travel to this Saturday’s St Patrick’s Day All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship Final backed by many messages of goodwill.

The DUP Mayor of Ballymoney, Cllr Ian Stevenson. has wished the side well and in fact he will be in the Croke Park stands himself.

Loughgiel club stalwart, Alderman Harry Connolly of the SDLP, praised the cross-community stance taken by the Mayor.

Ald Connolly added: “I wish the club success in the final. Getting to the final is a great honour for the club, parish and borough.”

Excitement is at fever pitch and Loughgiel has been turned into a sea of red and white. Thousands of people are set to leave north Antrim this weekend to flock to Dublin for the match.
