First Ballymoney Presbyterian and Portstewart Baptist churches will be the venues for ‘Let’s Sing Gospel’ choir concerts on 24 January and 1 February to raise money for two youth projects in the North Antrim/Londonderry area, Scripture Union and CHEERS Youth Centre.

‘Let’s Sing Gospel’, the community choir based in Ballymoney, has recruited 115 singers this year and had to close recruitment as the choir was becoming too large!! They have been practising enthusiastically every Saturday afternoon under the guidance of Jonny Boyd the choir musical director and keyboard player and Tony Morrison, conductor. They will be backed once again a local musicians, Jack Owens on bass, Andrew Lee on lead guitar, Nigel Dooey on drums, Jonny Campbell-Smith on sax and Jonny Boyd on keyboard. In 2013 the choir concerts raised over £7,000 for charity as well as providing two unique events enjoyed by around 900 people in the North Coast area and this year they hope to increase that amount. Tickets are selling quickly and are available from Robert Gault, Church Street Ballymoney, Faith Mission Bookshop and Causeway School of Music both in Railway Road, Coleraine.
