DEEP IMPACT' Youth Weekend

There was a great buzz of excitement on Friday, February 10 as Pastor Jonathan Payne warmly welcomed everyone to a very special Youth Concert in aid of Teen Challenge, Belfast.

The Church’s Fellowship Hall was filled with friends and family who came to see the talented young people from the church proclaim the Gospel message through music, song, dance, poetry and much, much more, in their own energetic and vibrant way.

The audience cheered and clapped as they showed their appreciation for the young people who had taken the time to prepare and present a superb programme. After the interval, a film clip was screened showing the work of Teen Challenge, Belfast, which helps people who have developed life controlling problems, especially drug and alcohol addictions. Their goal is to help people become mentally sound, physically well, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted & spiritually alive. The magnificent sum of £800 was raised through the Concert and gifts received for this very worthy cause. This special evening finished with Pastor Yvonne and the Youth Worship Band leading everyone in a rousing rendition of ‘Praise the Mighty Name of Jesus’.

The Upper Room was given a very special makeover for Saturday night’s event where young people along with their youth leaders came together for ‘THE SOURCE’. They worshiped together, shared together and had lots of fun while enjoying some delicious treats. Pastor Jon Ogle shared an empowering message and challenged everyone to step into a deeper relationship with God. The night was rounded off with beautifully inspired praise as the youth reached out to God and a young man gave his heart to The Lord.

The final part of this wonderful weekend began on Sunday morning with Pastor Jon sharing with the Congregation on the topic of “In Deep Water”. The Sunday evening Gospel Service was once again presented by the young people who expressed their faith through music, word and song. Pastor Yvonne Payne closed the service by inviting all the youth along onto the platform to sing together a final well known modern anthem “When Morning Dawns”. It was a very fitting finalé to a very inspirational weekend.

The Young people then stayed on for their Youth Fellowship (C.L.I.C.), to relax, reflect and talk about the wonderful weekend they had enjoyed.

Ballymoney Church of God places great emphasis on Youth Ministry and views it as a vital part of Church life. This was clearly seen by the youth leader’s enthusiasm and the energy and passion of the young people.
