Cunningham calls for new thinking

SDLP Ballycastle councillor Dónal Cunningham has called for additional residential car parking for Glentaisie Drive in the town.

He said: “Glentaisie Drive is one of the oldest and proudest housing developments in the town having been completed in the early 1950s.

“Houses enjoy fantastic views of the glen which gives its name to the development as well as the Tow River valley. The increase in car ownership and the limited on street space has made residential parking at times problematic.

“I am calling on the Housing Executive and Roads Service to consider the provision of additional car parking for residents. Currently provision is not adequate. Particular care should be taken to ensure parking is located conveniently for intended users and visually in keeping with the wonderful views enjoyed by the Glentaisie Drive residents.”
