Man charged after arson attack

Detectives investigating the incident at a flat in the Weaver’s Court area have charged a 22-year-old man with arson endangering life. He is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 13. As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS.

The incident occurred at approximately 6am on February 18. A neighbour, who was disturbed after hearing voices and a car, discovered the letter box of the property on fire. He extinguished the flames.

Damage was caused to the door, but there were no reports of any injuries.

It is understood two other men aged 22 and 24 arrested in connection with this incident have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
